There is a good deal of research behind how we can use colors as an important design tool in our home. For instance, the following is a short list of how you can use different colors to impact your mood and perception:

Green: You can use green to boost your creativity which makes it a great choice in designing an art studio or home office.

Red: This is a color of strength. While it wouldn’t be a good choice for an office, it is perfect for a workout room. Also, it has been said that people typically rate a person as more attractive when the person is standing in front of a red wall, as opposed to when the same person stands in front of a wall of a different color.

Violet: Often associated with sophistication, a grayish violet might be a good choice for a room in which you are trying to create a strong first impression.

Yellow: While yellow may not be the best color if used through a home or at the main entrance, it is often used in kitchens to create a warm and uplifting feeling in what is typically the heart of a home.

Blue: One of the most popular colors in a home is blue. It provides a sense of stability, which may account for why it is such a well-loved color in home design.

Regardless of what colors you choose, understand that adding color, whether it be colorful art or accents can really bring life and comfort into a home.
